Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Moore Runway, LLC does with information collected across both of its sites: moorerunway.com, which describes the company and its work, and app.moorerunway.com, which runs the short audit, the website scan alongside it, and returns the result. Everything below about answers, addresses and email concerns the audit; the analytics section covers both.

The short version

We collect three things: the answers you give, the website address you enter, and — only if you ask for the write-up — your name and email address. We use cookies and analytics to understand how both sites are used. We do not sell your information, and we do not hand it to anyone for their own purposes.

This policy describes the audit as we are building it. Some of what it covers — analytics in particular — may not be switched on as you read it. We would rather tell you about collection before it starts than after.

The website address you enter

The first screen asks for your website and says we will take a look while you answer the rest. That is literal: the address you type is sent to our server, which fetches your site and reads its public pages — the same pages any visitor or search engine can see. We look at things like your page titles, headings, and whether the site tells AI crawlers what they may read.

We do not log in, we do not submit forms, and we only read what is publicly served. If the scan fails, the audit carries on without it. The address is sent when you enter it, which is before you reach the email step — so if you start the audit and leave, we may still have received the address.

Your audit answers

As you move through the audit, your answers and the score derived from them are saved in your browser’s local storage, so that a reload or an accidental back button does not lose your progress. Clearing this site’s data removes them. See the Cookie Policy for exactly what is stored and how to clear it.

We also record your answers on our own systems so we can understand which questions people stop on, and so a conversation about your result can start from what you actually told us. Individual answers are not published, and they are not used to build a profile of you beyond the audit itself.

If you ask for the written report

The results screen offers a longer write-up. If you ask for it we receive:

• your name and email address;
• the score, band and tier your answers produced, captured at that moment;
• an identifier for your run, and the site that referred you, so we can tell a returning visitor from a new one.

We use this to send you the write-up, to deliver your site scan, and to follow up about the audit. We do not add you to unrelated marketing.

Cookies, local storage and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the sites working, remember your preferences, and understand how they are used. We use Google Analytics for that last part, across moorerunway.com and app.moorerunway.com — it tells us which pages and screens people reach and where they stop, so we can make the route to the audit clearer and the audit itself shorter. The analytics cookie is set for the shared parent domain, so it is one cookie spanning both.

Analytics tells us about behaviour, not about answers. The events we send record which page or screen you reached, which button you chose, and that a question was answered — never the text you typed. Your browser or device settings can block these technologies, and both sites will still work if you do.

There is no consent banner. On moorerunway.com, analytics storage starts denied in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland: no analytics cookie is set there and you are not asked, because we do not rely on your agreement to set one. Everywhere else it starts granted and your browser settings can refuse it. On app.moorerunway.com analytics is not running; it carries the same default, so switching it on would not change where storage starts denied. The Cookie Policy sets out what “denied” does and does not prevent.

How we use information

• To run the audit and return your result.
• To scan the website you gave us and produce a report on it.
• To send you the write-up and follow up about it.
• To understand where the audit loses people, and improve the questions and the copy.
• To keep the service secure and to investigate misuse.
• To produce aggregate statistics that do not identify any individual or company.

Who else sees it

We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it with anyone to use for their own purposes.

We do use other companies to run the service, and information passes through them in order to reach us: our hosting and database provider, our analytics provider, and the service that sends email. They process it on our instructions, for us, and for nothing else. Being plain about this matters more than a shorter sentence: “never leaves us” would not be true of any website, including this one.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the service and its users. If the business is ever sold or reorganised, information may transfer with it.

Server logs

Like any website, the service that hosts these pages records ordinary request information — an IP address, a timestamp, the page requested, a browser user-agent — for security and reliability.

How long we keep it

For as long as we are still working on your audit or talking to you about it, and then no longer than we need it. We have not yet fixed a retention period in months; when we do it will be stated here rather than left to judgement.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to [email protected] and we will. Depending on where you live you may have these as legal rights rather than as a courtesy; we do not intend to treat those cases differently.

A deletion removes everything that address touches — the answers you gave, the session they belong to, the result it produced, and any research we had added — including runs from more than one visit. What we keep afterwards is a dated note that a deletion happened, how many records it covered, and who carried it out. That note does not include your name or address; a record naming you would re-create the thing it exists to prove was destroyed.

Answers still sitting in your browser are yours alone — clearing this site’s data removes them, and we could not have deleted those for you in any case.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect what we hold, including access controls and encryption in transit. No website can promise perfect security, and we are not going to be the first to try.

Children

This is a tool for businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

The date at the top of this page is when this wording took effect. A change that widens what we collect will be published here before the collection starts, not after.
